Services I Offer
Build your Circle of Support
Having a Circle of Support around you can help you make decisions in your life. I can help you design how you would like this group of people to support you, organise themselves, come up with their Vision and Mission in supporting you and most importantly keeping you and your values at the centre of all decisions made.
Your Circle of Support can help with big picture goals, such as moving into your own home, what you need from a paid support worker, what you want to do for work and how to meet new people.
A Circle of Support is a non-paid group of people who want to be contributors to help another person reach their goals. You will be surprised at how many people are happy to give up some of their time to help others, don't forget they get something from it too, building their skills and experiences to better their own work practices and the thrill of helping others, it's the Aussie Spirit!
You may want to ask people with varying expertise to be part of your circle so you have a range of ideas and opinions being shared. This helps when having to make decisions. You may invite your support team, family, friends, friends of friends, and professionals you know to join your circle.
Personal Assistant
As your Personal Assistant, PA, I am available to help you manage the many aspects of your life in ways that you can relate to and understand. I am here to help you be your best self.
My passion is working with people towards their independence with a focus on how they wish to live. This may be as a Support Worker providing one to one assistance or as a Support Coordinator helping to map out a future home environment. With a Person Centred approach I help build Circles of Support and goals to Visioning your future. I can Facilitate your Team of staff and provide support to you and your family and carers.
I can also offer roles to build your capacity and decision making skills,
plan your holidays, create ideas for your future and design on your goals.
It’s up to you how you would like to work together!
You may be wondering how you can get funding for my services within your NDIS plan and there can be many ways for this to be included if you are self or plan managing. I am happy to have a conversation with you about your personal goals and how you can utilize your funding in flexible ways.
Independent Support Coordination
Support Coordination gives you the help and guidance to find services and the support you need to implement your NDIS plan and personal life goals. Support Coordination can also help to organise the paperwork and evidence you need for your NDIS review meetings.
It's about upskilling you to understand your plan and how to best use it to achieve your goals.
You can use Support Coordination when developing areas of your life that need research such as finding help to start a new job or social enterprise. You may want a support worker to be with your child or a therapy assistant or a social group to join.
If you receive exploration and design of your home living environment, I can help you and your circle of support envisage your dreams at your pace to create realistic goals. I will then liaise with community providers to help narrow down your options of a home and to find the right support staff to start you on your journey.
'Independent' means that I am not registered with the NDIS so you will need to be Self-Managing or Plan-Managed to use this service with me or pay privately. I only work for a small number of people at a time, which allows me to be more available to you.
You can receive additional funding in your NDIS plan for Support Coordination. Please be aware that this is not an advocacy role, if you need advocacy I will work with you to connect to a person or group who can help you as they are the specialists.
Visioning your Future
I can assist you to discover your dreams and goals and break down how to work towards the bigger picture into manageable stages.
Using Person Centred Practices I will help you (and your support team) to unpack your passions, skills, motivation and aspirations.
I offer this service to families with young children, teens who are leaving school and adults who may want to get a job, make meaningful relationships, or move into their own home.
Using the principles of Social Role Valorisation I can help you include the roles you have into your everyday goal setting so your support staff understand the values these roles bring and the importance of you upholding this status when out in your community.
These could include the role of 'Homeowner' and having pride in your home, tending to its upkeep and having a good relationship with your neighbours. In the role of 'Shopper' it's important for you to be the one having the interactions when shopping and your worker in the background. It is important to see yourself as a contributor to society and for others in the community to see you for who you really are.
Facilitating your Team
I can help you build a supportive team of workers to meet your goals and daily living skills. I specialise in coordinating your support team, from creating and managing a roster, hosting team meetings, supervisions and team building events so you know that everyone is working with an understanding of your needs and goals.
I can recommend software to assist your management of staff as well as creating policies and procedures to support the team.
If you are already working with a team of staff I can build them up to be a functioning team who work together to get the best outcomes with you each day.
If you don't want to be the direct employer of your staff I can assist you to find and coordinate staff from agencies or who are self employed.
Support Worker Services
I am a trained and experienced support worker with over 20 years of experience supporting people with disabilities, including children and adults, their families and support teams.
I provide support in ways that make sense to you and that focus on skill building and independence.
I will provide notes of our time together and progress made.
No matter your life stage of goals I can be your Personal Assistant to help you achieve.
So I can dedicate myself to each person, I have a limited number of people that I can support at one time. Please contact me to discuss your times and goals.
What's next ?
It wont take long for me to be Your PA, all we need to do is...
Time to talk
about what your looking for and how I can help.
I am sure you probably have a lot of questions so let's spend some time together so we understand each other and can work towards an agreement. We can do this in person or via an online video chat or on the phone or even via email, whichever communication style works best for you, and please invite others to join us if you would like!
You can then take your time to decided if I offer the right service for you.
Create a Service Agreement
A service Agreement defines our rights, responsibilities and describes how you want your support.
Even though I am an Independent service provider (that means that I am not registered with the NDIS so only people who Self-Manage or Plan-Manage or are Self-Funded can use my service), I still create a service agreement tailored to your individual needs.
This is so we both understand what to expect from each other and secures the fee that I charge you, so you know exactly what to expect in your invoices.
I am your PA!
Lets get started
Now we have an understanding of how we will work together, it's time for me to be your PA and start working with you to achieve your goals.
I will develop a good understanding of your needs and will start to work with you in ways that make sense to you.
I am so excited to be able to help to succeed!
